「君の名は。」「Your Name.」「你的名字」「หลับตาฝัน ถึงชื่อเธอ」「너의 이름은.」「Tên cậu là gì?」

Just came back from Izukougen in Shizuoka prefecture.  So much traffic on the way and back.  I often drive to Kanagawa and Shizuoka from Tokyo, but there were so many cars during this 3 consecutive holidays.

Have you seen the movie “Kimi-no-Na-wa”?  This is a cartoon movie that came up in 2016, made by Makoto Shinkai.  I myself watched the movie with my son at the time.

There is a little mountain called “Oomuro-yama” in Izukogen.  580 meters above sea level, so it’s like a high hill, not really like a “mountain”, about 6 minutes ride on the lift from the ground to the top.

I heard at the hotel that this “Oomuro-yama” is so popular now, and there is a long line every day waiting for the lift to the top.  Really??  I visited so many times in the past, but I had never seen a line before, wow…  They said the mountain in the movie looked like “Oomuro-yama” and that attracted people abroad.

I knew Japanese cartoons were also popular outside of Japan though, I didn’t know that actually makes people travel all the way to Japan and also to the mountain far away from the airport.

<Note> “yama” of “Oomuro-yama” means “mountain” and the Kanji is “山”.  It’s also read “san” as a part of “Fuji-san”.  “大室山Oomuro-yama” & “富士山 Fuji-san”.  A lot of kanji-es are made from how they look as shown below, "mountain" "river" and "tree".
